British Podcast Award nominees announced
The best podcasts of the last 12 months have been named, with the unveiling of the shortlists in the 2022 British Podcast Awards.
More than 1,200 entries were submitted for more than 30 categories.
Up for the comedy category are:
- Cold Case Crime Cuts, a spoof true crime podcast fronted by Jon Holmes
- Come Into My Kitchen an improvised cookery podcast from comedians Ralph Jones and Daniel Nils Roberts
- Drunk Women Solving Crime with Hannah George, Taylor Glenn and Catie Wilkins
- Jamali Maddix: Spooky Shit
- My Dad Wrote a Porno
- The Skewer, Jon Holmes’ satirical audio mash-up show for Radio 4
- The Staff Room Podcast, in which teachers share classroom stories with comedian Harry Stachini
- This is Gay with Kirk Flash
- This Paranormal Life from Rory Powers & Kit Grier Mulvenna
- Titting About with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders

- Shagged, Married, Annoyed with Chris & Rosie Ramsey
- The Down Low, in which Bernie Abambi and Ess discuss music, politics, and general celebrity foolishness

Across other categories, The Skewer is up for best radio podcast; Chris & Rosie Ramsey’s Shagged Married Annoyed is up for best podcast moment; and James Acaster's Perfect Sounds is in the running for best arts and culture podcast.
And Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster is up for the Spotlight Award, for podcasts with sizeable audiences bringing the medium into the mainstream.
Winners will be announced on July 29 and the full list of nominees across all categories is on the official website.
