Big new show with interviews and guest stand-ups

John Bishop is to front a major new  Saturday-night ITV show, featuring stand-ups from around the world.

The programme which bears his name will feature top-level interviews as well as his own comedy – plus the international line-up of guest comedians.

Bishop – who also stars in the new series of Doctor Who – said: ‘We’ve been discussing making a Saturday night show for ITV for a while and I am so glad that we are finally going to be doing it.

‘We want it to be up-to-date and topical, whilst also fitting the energy and fun that Saturday nights on ITV is known for.’

ITV’s head of entertainment, Katie Rawcliffe, added: ‘The John Bishop Show is the perfect Saturday night fix; celebrity tales, hilarious stand-up comedy and showcasing new global talent. John’s charismatic on-air style will delight viewers and guests alike.’

The John Bishop Show will run for six weeks and will be jointly made by Graham Norton’s production Company, So Television, and Bishop’s outfit, Lola TV.

The comedian previously honed his interview skills over four series of In Conversation With… for the W channel which featured guests including James Corden, David Walliams, John Cleese and Jeremy Corbyn.

The comic is currently on tour with £35-a-ticket ‘warm-up’ theatre shows before hitting arenas early next year. John Bishop tour dates.
