Monkey Barrel announce more Edinburgh Fringe shows

It's starting to look a bit like a festival...

Edinburgh’s Monkey Barrel venue has announced a major new batch of comedians for this year’s Fringe.

Harriet Kemsley, Bobby Mair, Rachel Fairburn (pictured), Christopher MacArthur-Boyd and  Lauren Pattison are among the acts performing work-in-progress runs at the comedy club next month.

The venue also says it is set to announce some ‘spectacular one-off shows from Mark Watson’ too.

Last week, the venue revealed its first tranche of programming including the likes of Ed GambleNish KumarElf Lyons.

This second raft also includes local comics, Rosco McClelland, Marc Jennings, Liam Withnail and Stephen Buchanan as well as alternative comedy stars Luke Rollason, Christian Brighty, Julia Masli and Amelia Bayler.

The venue will this year be operating three out of their  usual five rooms: Monkey Barrel 1, their year-round room, Monkey Barrel 3, their largest room, and Monkey Barrel 4, which is purpose-built for the Fringe.

Tickets are on sale from the Monkey Barrel website now.

Mark Watson is also hosting the final of the Chortle Student Comedy Award in London in September, it was also announced today.
