Mark Watson's Carpool Comedy Club back this spring

Mark Watson’s drive-in comedy clubs are to return this spring.

The comic fronted a series of Carpool Comedy Club gigs across England last summer. Now they are to make a comeback, with comics including Dara O Briain, Nish Kumar, Marcus Brigstocke, Rachel Parris, Angela Barnes slated to appear.

The first gig will be at the Hop Farm in Tunbridge Wells on April 30, headlined by Ed Byrne. It will then visit Warwick, Bath, St Albans and Henley – culminating in Syon Park in West London with Nina Conti.

The comedy nights will be part of a series of music events, movie screenings and live performances of The Gruffalo in each location, all under the banner of Alfresco Theatre. Producers are also teaming up with chefs to offer unique dishes at the events.

Tickets for the comedy gigs will cost £35 a head and will go on sale 9am on Thursday March 4 via the official website.
