West End show to be beamed around the UK

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s farewell performance of the Fleabag live show is to be screened in cinemas across the UK.

The actress and writer is reviving the one-woman stage show that spawned the hit TV series at the Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End from August 20 to September 14.

Tickets have long sold out, so the performance on September 14 will be beamed live to cinemas as part of National Theatre Live.

It is one of three new ways producers have opened up to allow fans to see the show.

Fifty seats for every performance will be available via an online lottery for £15, and a limited number of £10 standing  tickets will be available from the Wyndham’s Theatre box office on the day of each performance – one per person only.

Details of which cinemas will screen the show have not yet been announced, but they will be listed on  the National Theatre Live website, where tickets will be available soon

Directed by Vicky Jones,  Fleabag originally previewed at Soho Theatre in London before its Edinburgh Festival debut in 2013, winning rave reviews and a Fringe First Award. It returned to the Soho Theatre that autumn and was revived again in 2014 and 2016, as well as two UK tours in 2015 and 2018.
