Comedians to star in new ‘extreme bluffing’ series

E4 orders Pants On Fire

Up-and-coming comedians are to take part in a new ‘extreme bluffing’ series for E4, provisionally called Pants On Fire.

In what appears to be a twist on Would I Lie To You?, each show features three teams of fearless comics who will outline outrageous challenges, then present evidence that they have completed them.

The celebrity panel will interrogate the teams to figure out if they are telling the truth or telling lies. Examples of the audacious stunts the teams might come up with are swimming with sharks or winning a pro-wrestling battle royale.

Emma Willis – who has just been announced as the new presenter of Channel 4’s The Circle – will host the show, which is being made by James Corden’s production company, Fulwell 73

Leo Pearlman, a partner at the company, said: ‘Pants On Fire is hilarious, irreverent and pretty high octane in equal measures.  It’s an ideal show for E4 and we’re looking forward to unveiling some s new comedy stars to a brand-new audience.’

Steven Handley, E4’s commissioning editor for entertainment added: ‘Pants On Fire promises to be the most provocative bluffing game ever on British TV. Not only has it got gripping play along, but we can break some brilliant new faces – hopefully not literally.’

No details of the comedians taking part have yet been announced.
