Cast in talks about a 25th anniversary episode

The cast of The Fast Show are planning a special episode to mark the comedy’s 25th anniversary.

John Thomson has revealed he is in talks with his co-stars about the comeback.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester’s Mike Sweeney this morning, Thomson said: ‘We’re hoping to do a special, which is very exciting. You heard it first here. We’re in talks, as they say.’

The Fast Show  –  which was created by  Paul Whitehouse and Charle Higson – co-starred Arabella Weir, Simon Day, Mark Williams and the late Caroline Aherne – first aired on BBC Two on September 27, 1994.

The last broadcast episode aired in 2000, but it was revived in 2011 for a series of online shorts by  Foster’s lager.

• Thomson will be appearing at Mike Sweeney’s Children in Need extravaganza on 6 December at The Lowry Theatre in Salford.
