VIC REEVES is to appear in BBC One drama Inspector George Gently. The comic, billed under his real name Jim Moir, will play a shady pawnbroker when the series returns early in the new year.

He faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.

JOAN RIVERS’ daughter Melissa has hired a New York law firm to investigate the circumstances behind her mother's death. However the company declined to say whether the family intended to file a law suit against Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy, where the comedian was being treated when she stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest.
