Rufus Hound wins festive Strictly

Just ahead of his West End song and dance run...

Rufus Hound has again shown of his nifty footwork, winning the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas speical.

His triumph, with partner Flavia Cacace, comes three years after he won Let's Dance for Sport Relief by performing to Cheryl Cole’s Fight For This Love.

He beat five rivals including ex-Bros star Matt Goss and Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes to lift the trophy for his routine to Never Do A Tango With An Eskimo.

Hound said his experience on the one-off festive show was ‘surreal in the extreme’ adding: ‘We didn’t really set out to win, so the fact this has happened – I don’t really know what it means.’

He and Flavia scored 38 out of 40 from the judges, but the winner was decided by the studio audience.

Hound later tweeted that he was ‘so chuffed to have been given the trophy’ and added: ‘If you liked my goofing around dancing, I'll be doing it for the rest of next year in [Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in the West End] with @RobertLindsay! Merry Xmas!’
