30 Rock star cites 'filming commitments'

30 Rock star Tracy Morgan has pulled his planned UK tour.

The comic had been set to perform his stand-up show Excuse My French in Nottingham, Edinburgh, Manchester Birmingham and London’s Hammersmith Apollo in October.

But now his promoters Live Nation have announced that the dates have been pulled due to ‘unforeseen filming commitments’. They said the show will be rescheduled – but not until 2014.

Morgan is to star in the FX sitcom Death Pact, due to launch in January, as a former pot-dealing high school coach who returns home as a decorated war hero and starts a tough self-help group. He also voices characters in two forthcoming animated movies, Rio 2 and The Boxtrolls, both due out in 2014.

Morgan attracted accusations of lazy misogyny when he performed the Excuse My French in Australia earlier this year. (Chortle review)

Ticket-holders can get refunds for the UK dates from where they purchased their tickets.
