Modern Toss's arty challenge

Comedy-art outfit Modern Toss are trying to set a record for ‘the longest single-panel cartoon with the word “fuck” in it’.

Cartoonists Jon Link and Mick Bunnage are calling for volunteers to help them create The F***yeux Tapestry in London this Sunday.

‘Just turn up, we'll supply the pen,’ they told fans. ‘Afterwards see your work immortalised in the the commemorative online scrolling tapestry.

The six-hour event is taking place at Somerset House from 11am, as part of the Pick Me Up 2013 Graphic Arts Festival.

Modern Toss – whose animated comedy show ran on Channel 4 for two series in 2005 and 2008 – have subsequently made a business from books and merchandise. They have also made internet videos such as The Periodic Table of Swearing and The Adventures Of Robin Of Essex, and regularly stage alternative art events.

The original Bayeux tapestry, depicting the Norman Conquest of Britain and embroidered when the Battle of Hastings was still a living memory, is 230ft long.
