US series for Kurt Braunohler

...plus new role for Reggie Watts

Edinburgh Fringe regulars Kurt Braunohler and Reggie Watts have both landed new shows on America’s IFC network.

Braunohler – best known for his work with Kristen Schaal –  is to front a game-show parody called Bunk, in which a series of guest comics perform ‘absurd comedy challenges’.

The show was created by comedy writer Ethan T Berlin – whose credits include Ali G In The USAiii – and stand-up Eric Bryant, and will be produced by the American arm of British production company Avalon.

Meanwhile, Watts will provide the music for a new variety show based on Scott Aukerman’s podcast Comedy Bang! Bang!, which will feature celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and animation.

Both series have been commissioned for 10 episode seasons, to start in June.

IFC is establishing itself as a home of quirky comedy, as it already airs the TV version of satirical magazine and website The Onion, and the Channel 4 co-production The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret.
