Sky returns to Jinsy

Second series for surreal comedy

Sky has ordered a second series of surreal comedy This is Jinsy.

Another eight 30-minute episodes have been commissioned, to air on premium channel Sky Atlantic in 2013.

Pilot episodes were first broadcast on BBC Three last year, but the series came to Sky when BBC executive Lucy Lumsden became the satellite broadcaster’s head of comedy.

Created by Jersey residents Chris Bran and Justin Chubb, the show is set on an bizarre fictional island and has featured guest appearances from the likes of Harry Hill, Jennifer Saunders and David Tennant. It is also nominated for Best Sketch Show at tongiht’s British Comedy Awards.

Executive producer Chris Carey said: ‘Series two will be bigger, better and funnier.’

And Lumsden added: 'I can’t wait to travel back to the wonderful island of Jinsy for another series of insanely brilliant comedy. Chris and Justin’s creation is the perfect fit for Sky Atlantic HD.'
