Daniel Radcliffe tries stand-up

With a gag he credits to Peter Kay

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has made his stand-up comedy debut.

He told just one joke when he appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night talk show in the US last night.

But he said it had always been a dream of his to perform comedy, but he was always too scared to try.

Radcliffe said: ‘I’ve always admired stand-ups, I’ve always loved stand-ups and I’ve always been completely fearful of doing anything like that cos you have to be insane and crazy.’

The single one-liner he told, after much build-up was: ‘How do you kill a circus? Go for the juggler.’

Although it is an ancient pub joke, he chose to credit Peter Kay for creating it.

‘Can I attribute my joke as well,’ he said. ‘I do have to say this is a joke from an English comedian called Peter Kay, that’s where I’ve heard it from. I have to say that, otherwise it’s unfair.’
