Cracking start for Come Fly With Me

The debut episode of Matt Lucas and David Walliams’s new comedy Come Fly With Me attracted 10.3million viewers on Christmas Day.

The figure makes it the most-watched comedy programme of 2010, and the second most-watched show on Christmas Day, behind only EastEnders with 11.4million viewers

Two other BBC One comedies featured in the December 25 top 10: The Royle Family Christmas special with 9.9 million viewers, and Ronnie Corbett’s The One Ronnie with 7.9 million.

Overall, Christmas viewing figures were at their highest in a decade this year. Over the whole day, the total TV audience averaged 15.8 million, peaking at 26.1 million.

The next edition of Come Fly With Me is on January 1.
