Show will return: Would I lie to you?
BBC One has commissioned a fifth series of comedy panel show Would I Lie To You.
The last series, hosted by Rob Brydon and featuring team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack, attracted an average audience of 3.15million viewers to its Friday night slot.
Now the BBC has ordered another nine shows from makers Zeppotron, to be recorded at Pinewood Studios in the spring of next year to air in the following months.
BBC executive producer Gilly Hall said: ‘We are delighted to announce a new series of Would I Lie To You. It’s a wonderfully warm, feelgood show and has become an entertainment hot spot on Friday nights.’
Zeppotron has also sold the format to New Zealand broadcaster TV3 for a 16-part home-grown series.
Format creator Peter Holmes, said: ‘It's lovely to discover that so many people have great affection for the show. Hopefully the celebrities taking part in the New Zealand version will prove to be as adept at lying as their British counterparts.’
