Davina gets roasted

In a C4 comedy special

Channel 4’s Comedy Roast is to return for a one-off targeting Davina McCall.

Again hosted by Jimmy Carr, the comics levelling insults at the Big Brother host will include Rich Hall, Debra Stephenson, Patrick Kielty, Ed Byrne and Jack Whitehall. There will also be appearances by Chris Moyles, Dermot O’Leary, Julian Clary and Fearne Cotton

McCall said: ‘I’m honoured/terrified at the thought of being roasted.’

The show will air on Friday October 15, just two nights after it is recorded in London, with Channel 4's head of entertainment Justin Gorman saying: ‘It will be a night to remember.’

The broadcaster imported the North American tradition this summer, with Bruce Forsyth, Sharon Osbourne and Chris Tarrant the butt of the comedians’ gags.

REMOTE COMEDY FROM THE PADDOCK

It's the sort of content comedians have been pumping out from their spare rooms since lockdown began, now being given a wider audience (and hopefully some £££s) thanks to E4, which commissioned this compilation series.

Four episodes will air online at 9pm Tuesday nights, starting with this one, which features Stath Lets Flats star Jamie Demetriou, Lolly Adefope, Rosie Jones, and Australian award-winner Sam Campbell
