Julian to star in TV short

Mighty Boosh star Julian Barratt is to star in a spoof action comedy for digital channel Dave.

The broadcaster has commissioned a 15-minute short based on the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe show Zimbani.

Colin Hoult, of double act Colin and Fergus, and David McNeill created the show, which is a homage to such tough-talking series as The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Professionals.

The pair play the heroes Chester and Lenarkos, while Barratt plays the evil Julius Zimbani.

The idea began as a handful of sketches on Colin and Fergus' BBC7 programme before being developed into a full stage show.

The show, which has been made by Tiger Aspect Productions, will air at 10.50pm on Friday June 4.
