Sacha Baron Cohen to play Walter Mitty?

Fantasy remake on the cards

Sacha Baron Cohen is reportedly in talks to star in a remake of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.

The short story about a small-time fantasist was made into a film in 1947, starring Danny Kaye, and a remake has been on the cards since 1994, with the likes of Mike Myers and Jim Carrey touted as possible stars, and directors including Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard rumoured to be interested.

Now 20th Century Fox is having another bash, and has made a formal offer to the Bruno creator, according to Hollywood website Pajiba.com.

No director is attached to the latest version, and it has nor officially gone into production, although Peter Morgan, the writer behind Frost/Nixon, has produced a new script.
