Horne & Corden win awards

...for bad comedy

Horne & Corden have won two comedy awards – for the WORST sketch show and the WORST British comedy of last year.

The much-hyped – and much-maligned – BBC Three show topped the poll of readers of website comedy.co.uk, which called the show ‘overwhelmingly disappointing’.

Meanwhile, the worst new sitcom ‘accolade’ went to Amanda Holden’s circus-based BBC One comedy Big Top, which polled four times as many votes as its next nearest competitor.

Completing the BBC sweep of bad shows, Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps was voted the worst returning sitcom by visitors to the site.

Of the more welcome accolades, Peep Show was crowned best returning British sitcom, while its stars scooped best TV sketch show for That Mitchell & Webb Look and best radio sketch show for That Mitchell & Webb sound

Psychoville was named best new TV sitcom, The Thick Of It won the overall comedy of the year, and QI took the strangely combined panel show/satire category for TV – a title won by the perennial I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue on radio.

Finally, Bleak Expectations was voted best radio sitcom; while Celebrity Juice was named worst TV panel show/satire.

The site would not comment on how many people voted for the awards.
