McIntyre announces first arena tour

Big venues follow BBC One show

Michael McIntyre is to play his first arena tour, with 12 dates at major venues this autumn.

The new tour will capitalise on the exposure he will get from a new BBC One show, McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, which airs this spring..

The comic shot to prominence last year, thanks to appearances on We Are Not Amused and the Royal Variety Performance and his first DVD was the fastest-selling debut stand-up title ever, with 600,000 copies sold to date..

McIntyre’s autumn tour will also be released as a DVD in November..

The tour kicks off at the 5,000-capacity Cardiff International Arena on September 23 and ends at the Brighton Centre on November 5. However, promoters expect to announced more arena dates before the tour starts.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday. Click here for dates.
