Enfield: My Muslim character was banned

Harry told: 'Don't go there'

Harry Enfield says he was banned from performing as a sex-crazed Muslim hoodie and a paedophile Catholic priest on TV.

He revealed that executives at production company Tiger Aspect told him the characters planned for BBC One's Harry And Paul ‘might cause trouble’, so was told: 'Don't even go there.'

A spokesman for Tiger Aspect told The Mail on Sunday: ‘The characters never made it further than the page.

'This was a decision taken collectively by key members of the production team at the time of making the series almost two years ago.’
