Andy Dick charges reduced

Sexual battery case dropped

American comedian Andy Dick has escaped sexual battery charges after he was arrested last month.

He will now face lesser assault charges, as well as possession of marijuana, possession of antidepressant Xanax without a prescription and public intoxication.

A 17-year-old girl accused the 42-year-old NewsRadio star of pulling down her top at a chicken restaurant in Murrieta, California, last month.

The local DA’s office said: ‘He was arrested on the charge of sexual battery, but after reviewing the evidence presented and the recommendations of the police agency that made the arrest, we decided that the basic assault charge was the appropriate charge in this case.

‘Arrest charges when they come across our desk are recommendations, and that charge just didn't seem to fit.’

But court documents have revealed humiliating details of the incident, with the arresting officer claiming that Dick deliberately wet himself while he was in a holding cell.

‘At one point I noticed Dick sat up from the floor and his pants were soaked from the waist area to the ankles,’ the officer said in documents released to the TMZ website. ‘Dick has just urinated on himself.

‘I asked Dick why he didn't tell me he had to use the restroom again. Dick stated that he did not want to knock on the window like a caged animal.’

Dick also repeatedly told officers that ‘karma’ would get them before sobbing intermittently during questioning.

He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
