We swear it's a mistake...

Paramount Comedy apologises over F-word

Paramount Comedy has apologised after broadcasting bad language in a Nathan Caton sketch in the middle of the afternoon.

A viewer complained to broadcasting regulator Ofcom after the channel aired a Pimp My Ride spoof in its Short Cuts stand at 4pm

In the scene, the former Chortle student comedian of the year plays an image-obsessed woman who complains: ‘It’s supposed to pimp my ride, not shit my ride. Is that fuchsia red? That’s fucked-up black.’

Paramount Comedy said the programme was originally scheduled to run only after 10pm, but ‘human error’ allowed it to air earlier. The channel promised that it has updated its procedures to prevent the same thing happening again.

Ofcom said: ‘This compliance mistake was the result of human error, is an isolated case, and that Paramount has taken steps to ensure such mistakes do not recur.

‘We also took into account that this occurred on a niche station aimed at a predominantly adult audience and at a period when viewing figures indicate no children were watching. We therefore consider the matter resolved.’
