You're a c***, Prime Minister

Burns savages Canadian politician - by mistake

Brendon Burns has launched a savage four-letter tirade against a former Quebec Prime Minister who came to his Montreal comedy festival show – without knowing who he was.

The British-based stand-up viciously attacked ex-politician Pierre-Marc Johnson for speaking French ‘just to piss off the Yanks’ in an onstage rant that was captured by a Canadian TV news crew.

Burns launched the onslaught at the Just For Laughs festival, during Friday night’s performance of his if.comedy-winning show So I Suppose THIS Is Offensive Now.

The Australian comic said: ‘I cut him a new one about speaking French not knowing who he was. Everyone else in the room was fully aware – but not me.

‘I called him and all Quebecois creepy, underhanded, petulant, ropey cunts for leading with French just to piss the Yanks off. I said no matter how much the Scottish hate the English they don’t speak Russian just to spite them. My xenophobia was genuine.’

But Burns admitted he was impressed by Johnson’s reaction. ‘He absolutely loved it, and he’s changed my mind about the Quebec people somewhat. They took us all out for dinner afterwards.’

Johnson, a lawyer, was premier of Quebec in 1985, and represented Canada at last year’s Bali conference on climate change.
