BBC orders third series of Lead Balloon
The BBC has commissioned a third series of the Jack Dee comedy Lead Balloon.Open Mike Productions will make the new episodes for an autumn run on BBC Two – including a Christmas special.
The second series, which ended last Thursday, was aired on the terrestrial channel, following its success on BBC Four. Its final episode attracted 1.6 million viewers –a 7 per cent share of the total audience at 9.30pm. It peaked at 2.1 million for the December 19 episode.
