It's the c-word: cabaret

Strutter plans live tour

Dennis Pennis creator Paul Kaye is planning to go on tour with his creation Mike Strutter.

Strutter, an angry, foul-mouthed, cocaine-abusing comic, is currently hosting a clip show for MTV.

But in an interview with Chortle readers, Kaye revealed that he wants to take the character on the road for a bizarre cabaret show.

‘I’m planning some sort of live Strutter show in the future, with his band the Motherfuckers,’ he said. ‘More cabaret, I suppose, a bit like what Lenny Beige used to do.’

Kaye also said he wanted to revive an old character called Brian Munich, who was an Arsenal fan who composed football chants.

He said: ‘Like Strutter I think he’ll work a lot better now that I’m older. He was always the one I felt most comfortable improvising with.’
