Wisdom has heart op

Pacemaker fitted at 91

Norman Wisdom is recovering after undergoing heart surgery.

The 91-year-old comedian had a pacemaker fitted at Liverpool’s Cardiothoracic Centre on Friday.

He flew back to his Isle Of Man home the same day, where he is said to be recovering well.

His agent Johnny Mans told the BBC: ‘Norman is in good spirits and already up and about.  The pacemaker will give him a new lease of life and he is looking forward to getting on with work.’

The surgery followed a routine hospital check-up which revealed a weak pulse.
