Feeling lucky, punk?

Ade's sitcom gets green light

Adrian Edmondson’s sitcom about a punk dad has been commissioned by Radio 2.

Last week we reported how the comic was reviving the spirit of Young Ones Vyvyan with his script about a middle-aged man who moves in with his student children, much to their embarrassment.

The show, called Teenage Kicks, has now been given the green light and should air early next year.

Edmondson is co-writing the show with Nigel Smith, who previously penned the BBC One sitcom Doctors and Nurses, which also starred Edmondson. The former Young One will also create original music to sit alongside the show’s classic punk soundtrack.

Teenage Kicks will be produced by Gareth Edwards, who is currently working on Mitchell and Webb’s TV show for the BBC.
