South Park heads north

Creators to address Edinburgh festival

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker are to address  this year's Edinburgh International TV festival.

The pair will deliver a masterclass on their cult sitcom at the event  in  the last weekend of August.

Armando Iannucci will also give a masterclass on his successes, including The Thick Of It and I'm Alan Partridge.

Other guests include ITV chief executive Charles Allen, who will deliver the keynote MacTaggart Lecture, former US vice president Al Gore and Sir David Attenborough.

The festival's advisory chairwoman, Alison Sharman, said: ‘This is a great line-up. I am sure they will make waves - and make news.’

The three-day festival, which begins on Friday August 25, is only open only to broadcasting professionals.
