Hit song was written about the Connolly

Billy Connolly has revealed that he was the inspiration behind the song Stuck In The Middle With You.

The comic used to be in a band, Humblebums, with the songwriter Gerry Rafferty.

But Connolly quit when his comedy work was getting in the way of the music, and Rafferty went on to form Stealers Wheel, who recorded the track that was later used during the torture scene in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs.
