Word up
Alun Cochrane is to record a comedy pilot for Radio 4, based on his 2004 Edinburgh show.
Favourite Words, Best Stories is billed as being about ‘an academic under-achiever’s love of language, and how particular words lead to stories’.
Like his Edinburgh show, which earned him a Perrier best newcomer nomination and a Writer’s Guild award, each of Cochrane’s favourite words will be rewarded by a ding of his Call My Bluff-style bell.
The BBC pilot is being recorded at the Green Room in central Manchester on May 22. Free tickets are available from 08700 100 400.
