False Idol?
No cash for contest winner
The makers of a new Jimmy Carr DVD are looking for comedy hopefuls to take part in a Comedy Idol talent hunt.
The winner will perform alongside Carr at his sold-out, £15-a-head show at London’s 550-seater Bloomsbury Theatre – but they won’t receive a penny.
Would-be comics will be auditioned by Carr, with the final eight going on to perform at the Comedy Store on July 11, and the entire contest will be filmed for release on DVD
Producer Rachel Springett said: ‘The DVD which will show us the narrative journey our winner has taken before getting himself on stage with Jimmy.’
