Kitson, Mack up for 'Aussie Perrier'

Daniel Kitson and Lee Mack have been nominated for the prestigious Barry Award in Australia.

The accolade, named in honour of Dame Edna Everage creator Barry Humphries, is the antipodean equivalent of the Perrier award, handed out at the Melbourne comedy festival.

British performance group Ridiculumus have also made the shortlist for this year's award for their show Ideas Men.

Other nominees are American stand-up Maria Bramford and local acts The Kransky Sisters, Scotty & Son and Angry Eddie.

The winner, who receives AU$3,000 (£1,300) will be announced on Friday.

Last year's winner was Canadian Mike Wilmot.
