Ash plans Edinburgh stand-up debut

Leslie Ash is planning to take a stand-up show to the Edinburgh Festival.

The Men Behaving Badly star says she hasn't made a final decision, but friends are trying to persuade her to take the plunge with a one-woman show.

Ash, who was last seen in Merseybeat, has not performed stand-up before, and is known nowadays for her ill-fated cosmetic surgery as much as her acting.

She told Teletext: ""I'm scared but I'll only be up there for about 40 minutes. And the show isn't just comedy, there's a bit of drama in there as well."

"I don't want to say too much because I haven't made a final decision yet. A friend is trying to talk me into doing it at the moment. It's a bit scary."
