Group furious over Fringe 'sabotage'

A student theatre group is furious after posters advertising their production of the Marx Brothers' Animal Crackers were covered with false 'cancelled' stickers.

The Edinburgh Fringe performers suspect they have been victims of foul play by jealous professionals.

Director Sam Leifer says the sabotage was "shocking".

"I assume it's just jealousy," he told edfringe.com. "We're a hard-working student company and we've had good reviews and good houses. Maybe one of the big fish is unhappy with us swimming in their pond.

"The Marx Brothers are renowned for their love of pranks but there's a difference between throwing a custard pie and sabotaging somebody's show."
