Laurie to return to TV comedy

Hugh Laurie is to return to TV comedy after a ten-year absence.

He will be paid a reported £500,000 to star is the new ITV comedy-drama Fortysomething.

Laurie takes the role of Paul Slippery, a GP with mid-life fears, in the six-hour long episodes.

Filming starts in November, the Daily Mirror reports.

Laurie has not been seen in a TV comedy role since Jeeves and Wooster ended nearly a decade ago, instead focussing on Hollywood movies such as Stuart Little.
