Puckoon coming soon

Premiere for film of Spike's classic

The movie version of Spike Milligan's Puckoon, starring Sean Hughes and Richard Attenborough, is to premiere at the first Ealing Film Festival month.

The festival, celebrating film comedy, also features a new film out of Ealing Studios, a version of Oscar Wilde's The Importance Of Being Earnest starring Dame Judi Dench and Colin Firth.

Although the full programme for the event, which runs from September 5 to 26, has not yet been announced, organisers are also promising rarely-seen Monty Python features and a Laurel and Hardy classic, as well as some classics from the nearby studios.

There will also be a children's programme, including a preview of Asterix And Obelix: Mission Cleopatre.
