On his way to Wemb-Lee

Evans to play 11,500-seater

Lee Evans is to play Wembley Arena this autumn.

The gig was announced as the comic added another 15 dates to his mammoth UK tour.

The arena has a capacity of 11,500 seats and few comedians have the pulling power to play there.

David Baddiel and Rob Newman made history as the first stand-ups to perform at the arena in 1993, and last year Eddie Izzard hosted a star-studded benefit there in aid of Amnesty International.

The October 18 gig marks the end of his Wired and Wonderful tour, which will have run to 118 nights this year following the new dates.

For tickets, priced £20, call the box office on 0870 733 1003.
