Brush with greatness

Comedy art show planned

Sheffield's longest-running comedy club is celebrating its tenth birthday with an art exhibition created by those involved over the years.

Comedians, agents and those who have helped out at the club have all been invited to submit paintings and drawings for the show.

The artworks are set to go on display at the Edinburgh Festival for a week, followed by an exhibition at a gallery in Sheffield.

Promoter Toby Foster (pictured) says he's looking for "anything from a quick doodle on the back of an envelope, to a full-blown oil painting, along the very loose theme of 'Ten years of stand-up comedy'".

If the venture makes any money, proceeds will go to the Weston Park Hospital, a Sheffield hospital that treats cancer sufferers.
