On that bombshell...

Details of new Partridge series revealed

Alan Partridge is living in a caravan at the start of his new series, following a slight nervous breakdown.

Steve Coogan's creation is still working on Radio Norwich, but has been forced out of his house while builders move in.

In the five years since we last saw the hapless Partridge, he has become involved in a company making car crash videos.

And Michael, the Geordie hotel worker from the previous series, now works in a petrol station.

Details of the new series have been revealed by those who attended the recording of the first episode of the new series and posted on Internet forums, such as the Not BBC Comedy Forum.

However, around 100 fans were left disappointed when they turned up to TV Centre only to find there were not enough seats to accommodate them in the studio. Producers said changes to the layout of the set meant audience places had been lost.

I'm Alan Partridge returns to BBC2 in the autumn.
