Comics win £250,000 on Millionaire

David Baddiel and Frank Skinner won £250,000 for charity in tonight's celebrity edition of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

The former flatmates even knew the answer to the £500,000 question - What flower is the symbol for Japan - but were not confident to risk their kitty.

Crysanthemum was the correct answer.

The money will be split between the Catholic Children's Society and the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

The comics performed considerably better than the other celebrity couples. Jimmy and Liza Tarbuck and Hollyoaks stars Julie Peasgood and Kate McEnery bailed out at £16,000.

But Christine Hamilton was reduced to tears when she blew £3,000 by wrongly naming Jessica Lange as the woman who won an Oscar for best supporting actress in the 1988 film The Accidental Tourist. The correct answer was Geena Davis.

She and husband Neil won just £1,000.
