Steve Martin book deal

Follow-up novel planned

Steve Martin has signed a deal to follow up his bestselling book Shopgirl.

The short novel has sold more than 500,000 copies, and now publisher Hyperion has signed him up for a follow-up The Pleasure Of My Company.

Martin's new film Novocaine, co-starring Helena Bonham Carter, opens in the US this week.

And he's also working on a new play, entitled Underpants.
