Bop Muddy releases CD

With band Native Hipsters

William Wilding, better known to comedy fans as Woody Bop Muddy, has released a CD with his band Native Hipsters.

The album is a retrospective of the group's work since their 1980 release There Goes Concorde Again, which sold 5,000 copies thanks to plays on the John Peel show.

The track reached number 5 in the indie top ten and the dizzying heights of number 115 in the mainstream charts, and was recently included in a compilation celebrating 25 years of the Rough Trade label.

Wilding, whose act involves the destruction of terrible records, said: "The CD is not exactly comedy - but it does have its funny moments."

One of the tracks, 10 Small Men With Buckets, also features Steve Frost on guitar and Steve Bowditch on bass.

The album, also called There Goes Concorde Again, was released yesterday. It available, priced £7.99, from the Rough Trade label.

British Airways plans to resume Concorde passenger flights later this month.
