Mock The Week has been commissioned for three more series to run across next year.
The news follows the run of ‘summer specials’ for the revived panel show on the TLC channel, and ahead of series two starting on September 13.
A total of 22 hour-long episodes have been ordered across series three, four and five. The first seven episodes will air from February, followed by a summer and autumn series.
Dara Ó Briain will return as host alongside series regular Rhys James.
TLC revived the show in February this year – four years after it left the BBC – as the free-to-air channel reinvented itself as a comedy home.
It also commissioned the Ed Gamble fronted panel show Unacceptable and the Roisin Conaty and Sara Pascoe travel programme Zero Stars. Today it also announced a new panel show based on Top Trumps, hosted by Katherine Ryan and with Jon Richardson and Joel Dommett as team captains.
Overnight audiences for the first series of Mock The Week averaged more than 600,000, rising to more than a million when including repeats across the week.
The show is made by Angst Productions, where executive producer Dan Patterson said the one-hour format had given the programme room to breathe.
He said: ‘It’s giving us the additional time and freedom to dig into a news agenda that continues to deliver and introduce new rounds which have been a real success.’
Mock the Week originally ran on BBC Two for 21 series from 2005 to 2022.
Graham Lafferty from the channel’s parent company Warner Bros. Discovery said: ‘We are delighted to secure [the show] for a further three series’.
