Improv comedy group The Noise Next Door and stand-up Mike Newall both scored four 'yeses' from the judges  on Britain's Got Talent last night.

The Brighton-based quartet's off-the-cuff song about Ant and Dec running a business selling wellington boots made by air hostesses wowed the audience.

And their popularity was so much that it crashed their website, even this morning.

The foursome – Robin Hatche , Matt Grant, Tom Livingstone, Sam Pacelli –  told the show: ''We've done Live at The Palladium on ITV. We've done the Edinburgh Festival several times and headline the Comedy Store regularly, but nothing is as big as Britain's Got Talent.

'We may have had some success in comedy clubs but nothing of this scale. Britain's Got Talent viewers aren't necessarily comedy club-goers and this gives us a chance to bring what we do to a much bigger audience.

David Walliams called their song hilarious' and  Amanda Holden said it was 'loads of fun' – and both gave them a standing ovation: 

Introduced as a gardener and a comedian, the 39-year-old spoke about relationships, bath bombs and although his opening gag was shown to fall on stony ground, he eventually won over the hometown audience at the Salford Lowry.

Many viewers commented online about his resemblance to Liam Gallagher – as did Simon Cowell  who told him: 'It was like being at an Oasis concert and Liam decides to tell a few jokes. You're really funny.'
