Melanie Bracewell began performing stand-up comedy in her teens and quickly gained attention on the local New Zealand circuit. Her early accolades included winning the 2014 7 Days Comedy Apprentice competition. In 2016, she was named best Auckland newcomer at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and in 2018, received the Billy T Award for the country's best emerging comedian. She then moved to Australia to broaden her career, joining the writing team for the panel show Have You Been Paying Attention?, on which she also appeared. She was a contestant on the fourth series of Taskmaster NZ and has appeared on Richard Osman's House of Games in the UK.
