A real victim of gag theft

Now Lopez wants his notebooks back

Comic Ignacio Lopez has appealed for the return of his joke notebooks after they were stolen from a Swansea club.

Thieves also took his laptop and guitar from Koopas Comedy Club last Friday – although the computer was quickly recovered.

A post from the club on its Facebook page might explain why. It said: ‘The thief was an extra special crackhead and not only stole from a building with 28 CCTV cameras but then went to Cash Generator with the Macbook the next day.

‘When he was arrested the police found some fantastic pictures he had taken of him showing off the stolen goods.’

But Lopez’s notebooks are still missing. He told the South Wales Evening Post: ‘They were full of jokes. I am not Bob Monkhouse but I have written a fair bit of material which was in them. I am pretty cut-up about that.’

It was all stolen before 25-year-old Lopez – who appeared on ITV1’s Show Me The Funny last year – took to the stage.

Rachel Miller, a 21-year-old from Swansea, has pleaded guilty to handling stolen property, and has been bailed to reappear before the city’s magistrates on August 14.
