American comic and improviser who worked in the UK for several years, making the finals of the Funny Women, Hackney Empire and Leicester Comedian of The Year talent competition in 2003, before returning to her native Chicago. She was diagnosed with breast cancer before she came to the UK, but managed to beat it. However, the disease returned, and claimed her life in January 2008, at he age of 39.

Brandi Borr makes for a good compere, her amiable banter effortlessly putting everyone in a good mood.

As an act, though her material isn't particularly memorable - plays on the word 'shag' having different meanings on each side of the Atlantic, for instance, or the fact that white men can't dance - even though her jolly manner still goes a long way.

But there are hints of something a lot more interesting emerging from her set - one gag even managing to make cancer funny - which suggests there may be more to Borr than a chirpy personality. Let's hope so.
