Is Dom Joly finally ditching the giant phone that became his trademark?

In a new series of Trigger Happy, the comedian is seen hurling his outsized device into a canal after being plagued with cold calls.

Joly says: 'If you’ve never seen Trigger Happy, you probably still know about the Big Mobile. I wanted the new series to be all new characters but had to deal with the advancement of phone technology since 2000.

'It appears that big mobile guy has finally ditched his phone and gone off-grid - but how long can he survive like that in today’s world?'

The skit is including in the five new short episodes of Trigger Happy releases via Channel 4’s on-demand service All 4 today.

The original Trigger Happy TV launched on Channel 4 in 2000.
